Great to see a Kiwi finally winning another international pageant!  Can’t say I know much about the system though, other than it’s directed by Gaspar Cruz.  The school Aleisha goes to and my school are basically in competition & my family live close to the area she comes from ;)

An Auckland schoolgirl has become the first New Zealander to win the Miss Teen World title.

Sixteen-year-old Aleisha Robertson was awarded the Miss Teen 2013 title in Texas yesterday, beating out 19 other contestants from around the world.

She also won awards for having the best evening gown and being the most photogenic.

Robertson, who won the Miss Teen New Zealand pageant in April, is a year 12 student at Diocesan School for Girls.

She entered the contest last year but did not place.
