UPDATE - Huge congrats to Ali Nugent, the new Miss Texas USA! This was Ali’s second time competing, she was a non-finalist last year. Photos of her win can be viewed here.

The contestants for Miss Texas USA 2013 have been posted here.  Unfortunately this format is hard to scan over quickly so I am posting the full list of contestants here.  There are two former 1RUs returning - Lauren Guzman (2012) and Megan McAnelly (2011) as well as five other former RUs from recent years and one from Miss Washington USA.  Lauren is the only returning former Miss Texas Teen USA. Contestants who have placed in previous years are:

Rebecca Hodge is Miss Iowa USA 2012 & Carissa Becker is Miss Iowa Teen USA 2012! Full results…

Congratulations to the this weekend’s second pair of titleholders =)  As with Iowa Rebecca (Becca) Hodge, the new Miss Iowa USA 2012 has no prior experience, whilst Carissa Becker, Miss Iowa Teen USA 2012 placed first runner-up last year.  She is the third 2011 Teen first runner-up to win a title this year, following Kendall Fein crowned last night in Ohio and Kalani Jorgensen crowned last weekend in South Dakota.

    Congrats to the new RI & WI Titleholders!

    The Miss Rhode Island USA & Teen USA and Miss Wisconsin USA & Teen USA pageants were held Sunday night and newbies prevailed in all four competitions!

    Both Miss winners beat highly experienced competition, both in the top 15 and top five which should stand them in good stead for Miss USA.

    Last year’s Teen first runners-up in WI & RI competed again this year and in a rare coincidence both placed 1RU for the second year in a row!

    Miss New York USA pageants to return to Westchester | The Journal News


    WHITE PLAINS — Panoramic views of the Hudson River were trumped by politicians and beauty queens at the Ritz-Carlton’s 42 Restaurant on Tuesday, where it was formally announced that the 2012 Miss New York USA and Miss New York Teen USA extravaganzas will be held in Westchester County for the first time in more than three decades. “It’s really cool that we’re having it here in Westchester,” County Executive Rob Astorino said in welcoming reigning Miss USA Alyssa Campanella, Miss New York Teen USA Lisa Drouillard, Miss Westchester Christina DeLeon of Yorktown and Miss Westchester Teen Samantha Gold of Armonk to the posh media gathering. “These events are a lot of fun, but they also present an opportunity to showcase Westchester County to hundreds of visiting contestants and their families, as they stay in our premier hotels, dine at our top-rated restaurants and visit our many cultural and historical attractions during what is typically a slow period.” The pageants, which organizers predict will pump $3 million into the local economy, are to be held at the Performing Arts Center of Purchase College from Jan. 13-15. Winners qualify for the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants, a Donald Trump and NBC Universal joint venture.
